Joguet symbol Wine Blogging Wednesday #44
This month's theme is French Cabernet Franc.
This month's host is Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV.
The round-up is forthcoming.

We chose Joguet because it's the French Cab Franc producer whose wines we've had the most. We visited in 1999, too.

1999 Charles Joguet
Clos du Chêne Vert
Chinon

About $20

For a long time, Charles Joguet has been one of the best three or four producers in the Chinon. We've been drinking Joguet wines for more than ten years, and even visited the winery back in 1999. We dug up one of our older bottles for this WBW.

Joanne's Tasting Note:
Nose of dusty red cherry. Bright tart center of red cherry and red currant, with some biting acids. Dry acidic finishwith mineral dust.

Jack's Tasting Note: Faint hint of cherries on the nose. Pleasant mid-palate. Very dry finish. A balanced wine with good acids. It just needs a bit more fruit or something to make it really good. Still, a very good value and food friendly. 2-3+?

Their longtime US importer is Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant. Joguet wines are available in most of the USA. Charles Joguet's website is here.
