A pre-auction tasting for the auction two days later.
This was an excellent tasting and the wines showed very well!

1997 Antinori Ornellaia Green olive and oregano on nose. Very green olive center with hints of bell pepper. Clean finish.
1990 Château Cos D’Estournel Very ripe/aged meat or charcuterie on nose. Deep irony bloody center. Slightly tannic and irony finish. Good acids.
2001 Château Haut Brion Slightly stinky cheese nose and some sweetness. Too sweet for me – Int'l Style.   
1990 Château La Fleur Petrus Fresh Meat on nose – irony finish. Lean center. 
1995 Château Latour Fruit and floral nose. Lean and mean. Closed. Lots of acids.
1996 Château Palmer Meat and grass on nose. Very young and tannic. Green tea on finish.
1985 Château Pichon Lalande Grassy herbal nose. Very green herbal center – stemmy. Eucalyptus on finish. Later also has some coffee-like notes.
2001 Clark Claudon Cabernet Sauvignon Spicy allspice nose. Thick and oaky with new oak.
1999 Domaine du Caillou Châteauneuf-du-Pape Les Quartz Fruit and flowers on nose. Spicy bright thick fruit center. Acidic and long finish. Showing wonderfully.

Slightly medicinal nose. Bright light bloody, slightly irony center. Solid clean finish. Exactly as it should be. Very solid. (Jack thought this was by far the best wine of the evening.)
1999 Colin-Deleger Chassagne Montrachet Les Morgeots Nose rather closed. Strange center of menthol and eucalyptus – peppermint. Very bright. Clean finish.
1986 Dominus Barnyardy/stinky nose. Lean tight center and tea-like finish.
1992 Duckhorn Merlot Three Palms Vyd Stinky meaty nose. Intense green bell pepper pizza center. Good fruit and acid balance. Tannic finish. Lots of time.
1988 Dunn Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain Stinky animally bloody nose. Strange strawberry candy center. Clean. Good acidity. Ready to drink now.
1999 Etude Cabernet Sauvignon Red Cherry Jam in nose. Cinnamon Stick. Thick. Jammy.
1998 Tenuta Greppo (Biondi-Santi) Schidione Ground coffee, slightly sweet nose – dark chocolate. Bright red fruit in center with lots of acids. Hints of bing cherries linger on finish.
1994 D. Laurent Mazis Chambertin Medicine and fruit on nose. Very tannic center. Very tight.
1998 Leroy Nuits St. Georges Aux Boudots Cologne-like nose. Center of antique roses and  berries. Very sexy. I liked a lot. 
1985 Leroy Ruchottes Chambertin Cranberry sauce on nose. Cassia cinnamon. Lean young bright center. Tight. Lots of time left.
1983 Louis Latour Mersault Blagny Nose of gasoline and bitter lemon. Clean oaky center. Clean finish.
1996 Peter Michael Cabernet Sauvignon Les Pavots Great fruit and floral nose. Sweet. Bile-like center. Intense and needs to settle down.
1993 Moillard Echezeaux Perfumey nose of fruit and flowers with fresh meat underlying. Lean center. Good, young. Slightly spicy. A bit lean. I like the style though. 
1998 Montevetrano Spicy coriander and cardamom on nose.  Tight center with lots of acids – a baby. Slightly smokey element. Needs at least 5-10 years.
2000 E. Rouget Vosne Romanee Les Beaumonts Sweet fruity nose. Light fruity center. Lots of fruit and acids on finish.
2003 Sine Qua Non Sublime Isolation Somewhat closed nose and fruity oaky center with lots of acids. Fruit, oak and acids linger on finish.
1981 Viard Freres Chevalier Montrachet Nose of broiled lemon. Creamy thick center of ripe cherimoya. Good slightly lemon acids on finish and tart white grapes.
1998 Vineyard 29 Cabernet Sauvignon New oak and fruit and eucalyptus on nose. Slightly sweet finish. Full of fruit and round creamy jammy center. Needs to be drunk now.
1990 York Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Earth and blood. Slight TCA in center – this bottle was slightly off…the only off wine of the tasting.
