What Jack had:

Spring - Amuse
Amuse: Yellowfin Tuna Roll
Thin cucumber roll – tiny. Very good!

Spring - Hamachi
Japanese Hamachi Sashimi, shaved matsutake mushrooms, edamame, Thai basil-mushroom tea $14
A relaxing dish. Elegant and fresh. Yum! The Opal basil garnish was a nice touch.

Lemongrass Soup
Lemongrass & Coconut Soup, cellophane noodles, ginger & kaffir lime $7
Really good. Beautiful too. Makes me like spicy food. Would definitely order again.

Organic Field Greens
Organic Field Greens, white balsamic-dijon dressing & pinenuts
Good, although missing the pine nuts. One cherry tomato sliced in three.


Spring - Sign

Maine Sea Scallops, Moroccan spiced stew of butternut squash with preserved lemon & coriander $27
Some might say slightly undercooked, but I like scallops that way. Yum! Squash stew was understated – not spicy enough.

Bread: There were two breads (white & dark) offered with dinner. Both were okay, but the butter was really good.

2003 Weinbach Gewürtraminer “Cuvèe Laurence” Altenbourg Alsace

Sweeter than I had wished for - but it was my choice. A world-class wine.  6-12

A very enjoyable dinner and I would be happy to go back. The food was fresh, well-prepared and tasty. My only real negative was dinner the middle of dinner smelling cigarette smoke, which drifted into the restaurant from the bar area - so I would choose to sit in a different place next time.
